Character Technical Artist

The Rock Stars you see in Harmonix games are, as you’d expect, extremely high maintenance. Their wardrobe is vast, they change their hairstyle and makeup every time they go out on stage, and it’s your job to make sure it’s perfect for the camera and the adoring fans.

Characters have become one of the most complex systems of our games. Our Character Technical Artists are production power-houses that implement assets into our games carefully and efficiently. They have a keen eye to spot skinning problems and are quick with creative solutions.

Responsibilities

• Implement character assets into next generation games
• Work quickly and effectively to promote character team progress
• Preview animations to find skinning errors, repair accordingly
• Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team of Artists, Technical Artists, and Coders
• Help to develop a character art production pipeline
• Share your skills with the rest of the Character Studio

Desired Qualifications
• Self-starter and organized
• Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
• 1+ years game industry experience, a plus
• Custom tool development to solve rigging problems, a plus
• Max script or equivalent experience, a plus
• BFA from an accredited college

Sample Work Required
• An online portfolio that is kept up to date is the best reference for Harmonix.
