Idol Minds seeking Character Rigger (Louisville, Colorado)
We’re looking for a Character Rigger for an unannounced next-gen title. We currently have our own custom built rigging tools but we are looking for someone who has good rigging/weighting skills. The applicant should be able to pick up technical work flows quickly. Position may include some animation from time to time. Should have a basic understanding of Mel scripting, Python or a comparable scripting language.
Maya experience is preferred but we would consider someone with experience in other 3d packages. This is a full time, on site position. We would also consider on-location contract basis as well. We offer a competitive salary, health and dental benefits and 401k.
Required Skills
Solid understanding of character setup.
Weighting/skinning skills
Technical aptitude in Maya or similar 3d application
Troubleshooting problems or issues
Work directly with Art Director
Communicate problems and try to come up with possible solutions
Participate and communicate in critiques and planning meetings
Accept constructive feedback of your work and make required changes
Be a strong team player and demonstrate communication skills
Self motivated
Work within required deadlines

Mel scripting
A Fine Arts degree
