Senior TA positions in Seattle

We’re seeking experienced tech artists to join us at UndeadLabs in Seattle.

These are challenging jobs for veterans, so please no students or recent grads this time. All our positions will involve top notch problem solving skills and the ability to learn and practice new skills quickly . If you’re the kind of TA who enjoys mastering a new tech and making it available to teammates with tools, training, and demo art, then we should talk. We believe in the power of tech art to empower game developers: we built State of Decay, a big open-world game, with only 6 artists. Our next project is even more ambitious, and we want more top-notch TAs to help us make it happen.

Our art toolset is built around Maya, so professional Maya / Python experience is important. C# and Unity experience are big plusses for all candidates.

We’re looking for three specific positions.

Animation TA /Technical Animator. We are looking for one person to help drive our animation pipeline and toolkit. This position will involve traditional rigging jobs, but also helping with the infrastructure for dealing with motion capture and offsite contractors. The perfect candidate would have enough animation skills to help out with prototype animations and work with designers on new gameplay features.

Effects / Shading TA: We’re looking for candidate who’s passionate about lighting, shading and effects, to help us create visually compelling art with light and shading while providing tools and supports for our effects artists. Experience with the CG language and techniques ranging from DX11 magic all the way to squeezing cycles out of an iPhone is important.

Pipeline TA: We’re looking for a TA with the programming skills to build a rock solid toolset for artists. Advanced Python skills, deep knowledge of Maya, and enough general purpose programming chops to integrate our DCC tools with the rest of the studio environment are the technical side of the job. The art side comes from a passion for making artists more productive by eliminating drudgework and BS.
