Ok got it working like this,
from shiboken import wrapInstance
ptr = omui.MQtUtil.findControl(pmc.attrControlGrp(attribute=“joint1.rotateOrder”, label=“testJoint”))
qwidget = wrapInstance(long(ptr), QtGui.QWidget)
self.horizontalLayoutTest.addWidget(qwidget)
