YAGER Outsource Artist, UX Designer, Systems Designer, UI Programmer-Actionscript C++

As an Outsource Artist at YAGER you are responsible for managing outsourced art assets going to and coming from our outsourcing partners. To ensure the highest quality artwork you need to have a keen eye for artistic quality and experience creating 3D game art. You will be working on Dreadnought (www.playdreadnought.com), an awesome and exciting AAA F2P project with an international team of highly experienced and talented developers that are passionate about their work.

Responsibilities

[li]Create assets from proxy phase to final shippable quality
[/li][li]UV mapping and baking
[/li][li]Able to generate materials (using normal maps, diffuse maps, specular maps, plus PBR)
[/li][li]Provide feedback to artists and help maintain a close cooperation between external and internal art teams
[/li][li]Generate detailed documentation, video reference, and examples of art asset production, procedures, and engine requirements to support the external vendors
[/li][li]Work closely with the art director and production team to determine outsourcing needs, pipelines, budgets, and costs for art assets
[/li][/ul]

Qualifications

[ul]
[li]2+ years of experience in professional game development
[/li][li]A gifted eye for helping to develop and work within a designated artistic style, and to execute according to the overall art direction and project goals
[/li][li]Experience with Unreal 4 tools and workflows including materials and content optimizations
[/li][li]Fluency in 3DSMax, ZBrush or Mudbox and Photoshop
[/li][li]Experience working with art pipelines for real-time 3D game engines
[/li][li]Organizational skills and experience managing multiple 3D assets in various stages of completion
[/li][li]Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
[/li][li]Passionate about videogames

We’re looking for a designer with the experience to take the lead on UX design for our current AAA F2P project Dreadnought. We want someone who believes it’s their job to work with a team to deliver a great product, not just a great design.

You understand the moment when a game goes from being merely usable to something that inspires people to do things they couldn’t do before. You know that you don’t get there through a flash of brilliance – it comes from a deep understanding of people and how they browse, interact and play. You know how to use research, prototyping, and testing to take that first idea and turn it into an experience that is elegant, natural and valuable to the person using it. Last but not least, you love to take ownership over things and pushing them to their limit.

What you will do

[li]Within the game team you’ll take the lead in designing the user experience for the meta game and the connection to the core game
[/li][li]In cooperation with other designers, you will define different player types and create appropriate user paths for them
[/li][li]With the creation of interactive flowcharts you will quickly prototype these paths and validate your decisions
[/li][li]Within the flowcharts, you will be responsible for the creation of wireframes
[/li][li]You’ll work with user researchers and the team to test your designs and flows to iterate on them and validate them

What you need to bring

[li]3+ years of hands-on experience in an interaction design or user experience design role
[/li][li]Creativity to deliver effective user interface solutions for complex software within the constraints of a strong brand
