@teessider: @teessider uploaded a file: p4_ue4_diff.png and commented: In relation to the diffing blueprints from earlier, I would like to share something which our engine programmer discovered (it runs the engine but it still works). I use it to diff materials in perforce I think he diffs blueprints as well with it (we are on 4.18.3)
@bob.w: Does it merge?
@teessider: and if you don’t have debug binaries you can use PROJECTNAME -diff %1 %2
not sure actually
I’m asking now
@bob.w sadly not, he just uses it to see the difference and then manually merges it
@bob.w: curses
@laurent_d: We’re using plastic as source control and their plugin includes visual diffing of blueprints
It’s super neat
@teessider: oh man…that does sound nice!
@laurent_d: https://github.com/SRombauts/UE4PlasticPlugin if someone wants to recreate it for p4
GitHub: SRombauts/UE4PlasticPlugin
@bob.w: I think that’s just using the builtin blueprint diffing tools
At least they link to the UE4 docs from their readme
@teessider: yeah…for materials it doesn’t work
@laurent_d: Welp…
@teessider: with the suggestion i posted earlier, I can diff from any revision in p4v without the editor (revision names don’t match up but thats ok for now ), the editor p4 diffing only does the last version from the depot
@laurent_d: That’s pretty sweet!
