Indirect lighting
From Tech Artists Wiki
Indirect lighting is lighting not directly provided by a light source (called direct lighting. Instead, it is bounced or ambient lighting.
There are a number of indirect lighting models, largely determined by the specifications of the rendering engine. While the shading models of direct lighting are generally contained only in a shader and are thus easily swappable, indirect lighting is closely tied to the lighting model of a particular engine, and not wholly contained in the shader, especially for the more advanced techniques.
